Several accounts and game profiles
Switch Minecraft accounts and keep separate settings per profile.
Settings → Accounts lists every account you signed in with; pick one to play with it, or add another.
Game profiles keep a version, memory, graphics preset and Java arguments together. Create one per way you play (for example PvP on 1.8.9 and survival on the newest version) and switch them on the Play tab.
